"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."

Ephesians 2:10,

We are not saved by works but good works result when we

yield our lives to God and allow his love to be expressed through our lives.

I would also like to make a suggestion. We must read the Bible and obey it.

We hear many people believing God for prosperity (because it is in the Bible), we hear many claiming healing (because it is in the Bible), we claim love, forgiveness for our sin, and even acceptance (because it is in the Bible).

The reason we can claim these precious promises from the Bible is because it is the Word of God. It is a written description of His desire for us. It is from His perfect view that He tells us what to do. We love the good things but put away the hard things that require our adjusting our flesh to live in the spirit.

For instance, we say love does not judge. Wow, that sounds nice, but if that were true God would not be Love. In fact, He judged and found us lacking so he had to come and make it right.  There are many types of judgment.

There is the final judgment. God says that the unsaved are already judged and if they do not repent they will not enter heaven. The Bible (God) also tells us that we will some day judge the angels. In that same text He admonishes us to judge the body within.

This is what we must do. We have His commission, His authority, His direction and His reason for this. He wants us to keep ourselves Holy. He wants to return for a pure bride. He wants us safe from the destruction of the enemy. He wants us to represent Him, His character, and His glory. He wants us to preach His gospel and He wants us to live in victory. In this particular text He specifically lets us know what He does not want. He does not want the world to judge His church.

Which is exactly what is happening to the church now, because we have not judged within.

In other words, we are more afraid to be accused of judging, or being intolerant, or causing division than we are of obeying God. We have listened too long to those that have never read the Bible or to those that have used it out of context to justify and protect themselves or to those that through years of persecution have been beaten into submitting to a worldview instead of a God view. Let us get into God’s word not only to find out what blessings we are entitled to but also to find out what God has to say for directing our lives.

This may seem an oversimplification of the huge problem, but I believe that if we would actually trust God enough to believe what He says about judgment, accountability, leadership (servant hood), and put away our traditions we would find less and less of this getting out of control. It would be discerned and dealt with immediately.

Many say there is no perfect church. That is an excuse for our lack and it is a lie from the enemy. The Bible tells us of a church that God had nothing against. Read it for yourself. Is this not a perfect church? Revelation 3: 7-13.  It is titled “the obedient church”.

Listen to verse 8 “I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength and hast kept my Word, and hast not denied my name.”  Did you catch it? “Hast kept my Word”. That makes a perfect church.

God says to hide His Word in our hearts that we will not sin against Him.

He says to be a doer of the Word and not a hearer only. He says that faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word. He, over and over again, tells us that His Word is for our benefit and yet, when it comes to sin we ignore our loving Father’s direction.

The problem is twofold. One, we do not discern, rebuke, deal with sin according to the Bible. Judging a righteous judgment.

Two we have watered down the word to fit our comfort zone.  For instance, I Thess. 5:22 says, “Abstain from all appearance of evil”. Appearance. If we took God at His Word and abstained from all Appearance of evil how would that change your life. Think about it. Not the evil but the appearance of evil. WOW that’s pretty strong. Well, the King James Version of the Bible has been proven to be the most accurate translation of the Word of God and that is what it says. You will not find that in any other interpretation, and I say interpretation because you cannot translate English to English. You can only interpret it in a way to be more modern.

Is the Word of God being changed with the attitude ‘surely God’ did not mean that?  I wonder who is the father of that one?
